A perfect getaway

“Peacefulness is an inner sense of calm – it comes from becoming still – in order to reflect and meditate on our inner wisdom and receive answers. A peaceful heart is one that is free from worry and trouble. It’s becoming quiet so we can look at things quietly so we can more clearly understand them and thus come up with creative solutions. It is learning to live in the present.”

Every once in a while it’s good to break the cyclic

And miles to go before I sleep

Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of India, had, towards his later years, kept a book close to him. It was even there at his bedside table as he lay dying. The book was of Robert Frost, and on on one page featuring the poem “Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening”

Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.

The 50mm magic

16 Aug 2011 | 3 comments » Add a comment

If you have bought yourself a canon SLR camera sporting the default 18-55mm lens, and are now wondering which should be the next lens you pick up, I seriously suggest the cheap 50mm f/1.8 lens from canon. The reasons are simple

1. Sharpness
The Canon 50mm f/1.8 is one of the sharpest lens Canon has to offer, some say even sharper than the expensive 24-70mm lens (which is known for sharpness). However I have noticed that at f/2.8 and

A Vagabond for Beauty and Peace

10 Apr 2011 | 3 comments » Add a comment

As to when i shall visit civilization, it will not be soon. I think. I have not tired of the wilderness; rather i enjoy its beauty and the vagrant life l lead, more keenly all the time. I prefer the saddle to the streetcar and star sprinkled sky to a roof, the obscure and difficult trail, leading into the unknown, to any paved highways, and

“You can’t stop the waves, but you can learn to surf.”

Just a small reminder to everyone, life is too short to hold grudges, hatred, jealousy, anger, resentment, sorrow, grief, pain and whatever else troubling your mind.

When you step into the sea, and you are hit by an unsuspecting wave, which sweeps you off your feet, you yell in terror and excitement as you are droped much further away, you make an

Sinquerim beach under the moonlight

Clicked this at Sinquerim beach late evening few days back. The cloudless clear sky with the moon, just at twilight created a nice effect on the sky, the orange twilight sky at the horizon and the dark blue night sky mingle with a nice gradient. The crescent moon, and the palm trees and beach silhouette adds to this image.

The stare of a Tiger

02 Dec 2009 | 12 comments » Add a comment

No words, no photographs, .. nothing can describe the feeling I got when this 4 year old young tiger stared into my eyes at Ranthambore less then 5 feet away, during my safari trip. I never knew I would be able to see him so close, and although I knew they are big cats, his size

Previous title: Creepy tree
ok ok, I do admit I click crazy snaps at times, but I loved this one. Its fantastic. It looks like from some … “The Lords of the Ring” scene. Almost whispering .. “Go away”.. ok I better go to sleep now.. Its late.

23/03/2009 – I got a lot of compliments for this snap, some posted comments, some emailed me, some even called me. Vinod suggested I changed the name to “The Ent” (google it if you want to see what it means) which fits the description and I feel silly or not thinking about it especially since I mentioned in the blog it reminds me of “The Lords of the Ring”.  Thanks Vinod. I almost can see one branch reach out like an arm. Brr… should not have stood so close to this one.. one never knows…
