Sunset at Colomb beach

08 Jan 2012 | no comments » Add a comment

“Once I saw a chimpanzee gaze at a particularly beautiful sunset for a full 15 minutes, watching the changing colors (and then) retire to the forest without picking a pawpaw for supper.”

Adriaan Kortlandt

Sunset images like these are very easy to capture and give stunning results. 1/3 rule works well for this, and I prefer not placing the sun right in the middle. The palm trees and boat silhouette ofcourse add to the value of the snap. Clicked during my short vacation at Colomb beach, near Palolem, Goa.

Holy cross chapel

As one drives through the roads of Goa, you are bound to come across a chapel, church, temple etc. This one however in Saligaon seemed more beautiful with the arrangement of fields, the palm trees, the cloudy sky and the neatly placed chapel.

I just hope this view, these fields never go and get replaced by the concrete jungles.

Make a wave

As long as you don’t make waves, ripples, life seems easy. But that’s condemning yourself to impotence and death before you are dead.

Its twilight, the sun is about to disappear, and the silver crescent can be seen high up in the sky. There is hardly anyone on the beach, I am laid down on the beach for the past 1 hour. I dont seem

And miles to go before I sleep

Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of India, had, towards his later years, kept a book close to him. It was even there at his bedside table as he lay dying. The book was of Robert Frost, and on on one page featuring the poem “Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening”

Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.

Shells and beach

This was when I spent the entire evening on the 1st floor of Curlies shack at Anjuna, Goa. Good food and drinks, and alternative arrangements of mattress and long table laid down on the floor so that you can sit cross legged or lie down. The view

Adam and Eve are happy but they do have their moments…

Eve: Adam darling, do you love me …

Adam busy fishing, “eh? yeah..”

Mandovi River – Monsoon snap

07 Jul 2011 | no comments » Add a comment

The Mandovi river and bridge in the monsoon season. I would have ideally cut off the dirty rubble I see at the right end of the snap, but the lamp would have been cut off too and it adds so much value to the snap. Morning photograph on my way to work, when it was really gloomy with clouds all around.

18mm, f/22, ISO 100, 1/100 sec
