Dim light photography

For good dim light photography 4 things are important. Flash, ISO, aperture, and exposure time.

Flash: There are 2 reasons we want to avoid flash.

1. Its irritating for others when the flash blinds them. Its also easier for us to click snaps quietly without making anyone conscious or aware that

Aila Cricket

My friend runs to the school carpenter dragging a coconut palm branch, and emerges out after 5 Min’s with a new converted cricket bat. “See..” he proclaims, “I told you we will get one”. The beauty of gully/street cricket is that one can

Faces at Ingos

05 Aug 2010 | no comments » Add a comment

This snap reminds me of the old “2 Unlimited” song called Faces. Rememer the lyrics…

All around different faces I see
Some are happy, some in misery..

The women in front is holding her jacket tighter, seems lost, or looking for someone/something, the african lady behind her seems to know her way across, and the weird stare from the 3nd lady on the right hand side seems to say “I know what you did last summer”, with the numerous people in the crowd behind make it interesting. The focus point is the wierd lady ofcourse.

Riders on the storm

Some say Riders on the storm is an autobiography of Jim Morrisons life. This was the last song he recorded before he died few months later.

Lester Bangs once said (and repeated in the movie “Almost Famous”) “Ah, Jim Morrison is a drunken buffoon, posing as a poet.

The hippie culture started in Goa in the 60s, and people would make a long journey by special buses from Europe at a days notice to be in Goa. To make some money they started small flea markets which gradually grew where everyone

Long exposure for still night snaps

06 Jan 2010 | no comments » Add a comment

For still snaps of an object or a place with low lighting conditions, its fun to do a longer exposure with a low ISO, like this one was exposed for 13 secs, at ISO 100 at Bambolim beach. I also set an open aperture (f1.8) and

Simplicity

“Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication!” claimed Leonardo da Vinci. This means every simple thing we see is a work of genius in the end.

It could be with respect to an invention like of the wheel, simple design, simple to make, but a work of wonder on how its made our lives easier, Imagine riding my bike with Square tires! So
